Stock Market Highlights on Friday, Sept 4, 2026: The benchmark indices snapped a four-day losing streak as global equities rose and emerging-market currencies strengthened against the greenback amid subsiding fears about a rate hike in the US.
The Sensex rose 362.57 points or 0.48 per cent to 76,515.43 and the Nifty50 was up 24.25 points or 0.10 per cent at 23,897.70.
HCLTech, Bharti Airtel, and Maruti Suzuki India were the top losers in the Nifty50 index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap fell 0.25 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap rose 0.22 per cent.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Metal rose over 1 per cent and outperformed the other sectoral indices, meanwhile, the Nifty Realty declined the most.
