Sporting Club Delhi have confirmed the signing of 25-year-old Brazilian Rodriguinho to further strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Indian Super League season.
The Brazilian forward is the club’s fourth overseas signing of the transfer window after Colombian centre-back Duvan Viafara, Burundian central midfielder David Richard Ndayishimiye and Colombian attacking midfielder Juan Peña.
Rodriguinho is mainly a second striker but he can play as a right winger ass winger as well.
Another attacking option who can both score and create opportunities is Rodriguinho, who now completes that spine.

Rodrigo Araújo da Silva Filho, better known as Rodriguinho, was born in Belo Horizonte. Rodriguinho is mainly a second striker but he can play as a right winger ass winger as well. The 25-year-old, standing at 1.79 metres tall and primarily left-footed, brings a decent amount of versatility and mobility to SC Delhi’s attack under head coach Tomasz Tchorz.
Rodriguinho arrives in India having previously played for Série A and Série B clubs like Chapecoense and Ponte Preta in Brazil and had a stint in Thailand, giving him experience of Asian football and conditions. His knowledge of the climate, travel requirements and style of football in the region will help him settle quickly into life in India. “He’s a different profile to a traditional No. 9 with his ability to work between the lines, link with midfielders and make intelligent runs in the penalty area.
Viafara is likely to marshal the defence, but Ndayishimiye adds steel and composure in midfield and Peña brings creativity in the final third. Another attacking option who can both score and create opportunities is Rodriguinho, who now completes that spine.
