Sony will release its new flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VIII, on June 11.
The phone features enhanced camera performance, including an AI (artificial intelligence) camera assistant function that suggests lenses and colors, based on the subject.
When shooting with the phone's camera, the AI suggests four creative expressions based on the scene and subject.
The estimated market price for the SIM-free model starts at around 236,000 yen (including tax).
This represents an increase of approximately 31,000 yen from the previous model due to rising costs such as semiconductor memory and logistics.

When shooting with the phone's camera, the AI suggests four creative expressions based on the scene and subject. Selecting one automatically switches the camera settings. For example, when shooting a sunset, simply choosing a setting that enhances the sunset's vibrancy makes it easy to achieve the desired shot.
Furthermore, it features an image sensor approximately four times larger than the previous model, improving performance by capturing distant subjects clearly and taking clear photos in low light.
In addition, it incorporates a newly developed speaker unit, reproducing a spacious and deep sound. The phone comes in four color variations and features a finely textured finish on the back glass and other materials, inspired by raw gemstones.
