Sony India has announced an expansion of its BRAVIA Theatre lineup with the launch of the flagship BRAVIA Theatre Trio, along with the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8, BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9, and BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8. The new products combine several of Sony's audio technologies and aim to create a wider soundstage for home TVs.
At the heart of the range is the BRAVIA Theatre Trio, a wireless home theatre system designed for large-screen TVs. Unlike traditional soundbars that are limited by their physical width, the Trio includes dedicated left, center, and right speakers to create a wider soundstage and improve dialogue clarity. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS, and works with compatible BRAVIA TVs. When paired with the Sub 9 and Rear 9, the system can produce up to 24 phantom speakers.
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 incorporates Sony's 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, which creates a wider soundstage through virtual phantom speakers. It also features Sound Field Optimisation, along with support for Dolby Atmos and IMAX Enhanced. This soundbar houses nine speaker units, including up-firing and side-firing speakers, as well as four passive radiators.
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 is a soundbar that comes with a wireless subwoofer. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The soundbar uses Sony's Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround technologies to create a virtual surround sound experience. The 3.1-channel system includes a dedicated centre speaker for clearer dialogue, and Voice Zoom 3 is designed to further improve speech clarity when used with compatible BRAVIA TVs. It also includes Sony's upmixer and Voice Mode features.

The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9 is a wireless subwoofer powered by a 600W amplifier. It has a dual-subwoofer setup and features what Sony calls vibration-cancelling dual opposing drivers to minimize distortion. It uses an aluminium speaker unit and connects to compatible BRAVIA products via the BRAVIA Connect app and direct connection options.
The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8 is marketed as a deep bass subwoofer with a 300W amplifier. It supports a dual subwoofer setup and features an aluminium speaker unit. Like the Sub 9, it connects to compatible BRAVIA TVs through Direct Connect and the BRAVIA Connect app.
The BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 is a rear speaker designed with the same approach as the Trio. It has large up-firing speakers and aluminium speaker units. It includes wireless connectivity and a swivel wall-mount bracket, as well as support for the BRAVIA Connect app and direct connection with compatible BRAVIA products.
The BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 is a wireless rear speaker pair designed for use with compatible BRAVIA Theatre systems to enhance surround sound depth. These speakers are wireless and easy to set up and place.
In addition to the new products, Sony introduced BRAVIA Direct Connect. This feature lets compatible BRAVIA TVs connect directly with BRAVIA Theatre subwoofers and rear speakers without needing a soundbar. It supports various setups, including a TV paired with a subwoofer, a TV with rear speakers, or a TV with both a subwoofer and rear speakers.
