Sonakshi, who has earlier spoken out on social and political issues, has again come under discussion after questions were raised over her silence during the recent student protests in Jharkhand. Shatrughan Sinha, addressed the issue in a recent conversation and said that Sonakshi had in fact shown “quite strong support” for the students of Jharkhand a few days ago. He also reacted to the trolling directed at her on social media and said she has chosen not to be affected by the criticism.

During a conversation with ABP News, Shatrughan Sinha responded to those who frequently troll Sonakshi online. He alleged that many of the people targeting her are paid and claimed that the BJP’s IT cell orchestrates trolling against her. He said such attacks are not organic and are carried out by people who may not even understand what they are saying. Referring to how Sonakshi deals with the criticism, he said, “But Sonakshi said it well that I don't even watch it, there is a lot of life.”
Sonakshi has previously made headlines for speaking up during the CJP protest, when she shared her views and raised questions. She had also extended support to activist Sonam Wangchuk, which drew attention at the time. Her silence during the recent protests in Jharkhand, however, led to fresh questions.
When asked whether Sonakshi’s vocal stand during the CJP protest suggested that she might consider joining politics, Shatrughan Sinha said, “I can't say, earlier I used to ask too.” He then praised his daughter and added, “I can only say that she is the extremely capable daughter of an extremely capable father.”
On the work front, Sonakshi was last seen on OTT in System, a legal drama in which she played a lawyer. She will next be seen in Dahaad Season 2.
