Traffic police have advised people to plan their journey in advance, avoid non-essential travel during peak hours and use alternate routes wherever possible.
ROUTES LIKELY TO SEE THE MAXIMUM IMPACT
According to the advisories and traffic arrangements announced by the authorities, the following corridors are expected to remain under pressure through August 11:
Kalindi Kunj and Noida-Delhi border
The Kalindi Kunj route, which connects South Delhi with Noida, is likely to witness heavy congestion because of increased movement of Kanwar pilgrims and local traffic. Commuters travelling between Sarita Vihar, Jasola, Kalindi Kunj and Noida sectors near the border should expect delays.
DND Flyway
The DND Flyway, one of the busiest links between Delhi and Noida, may also experience slow movement, especially during the morning and evening rush hours when office traffic merges with diverted vehicles from other border routes.
Ashram–Mathura Road corridor
Traffic restrictions related to the Kanwar Yatra can affect parts of the Ashram Chowk, Mathura Road and Badarpur stretch, impacting vehicles moving between Central Delhi, South Delhi and Faridabad.
Noida–Greater Noida and connecting roads
Police have indicated that traffic flow on roads connecting Noida, Greater Noida and the Delhi border could remain slower than usual due to diversions and increased vehicular load on alternate corridors.
Faridabad–Delhi routes
Key entry points between Faridabad and South Delhi, including stretches connected to Badarpur Border and Mathura Road, are likely to remain sensitive areas for congestion during the Shivratri rush.
