Sardar 2 is the sequel to the 2022 action thriller Sardar, which starred Karthi in the lead role. Directed by PS Mithran, the film is expected to follow a new role undertaken by Chandra Bose, also known as Agent Sardar.
As Karthi reprises his dual roles, the film will also see Rajisha Vijayan return as Indhrani. Additionally, Malavika Mohanan , SJ Suryah, Ashika Ranganath, and several others play key roles. Sam CS has composed the music, while George C. Williams serves as the cinematographer, and Vijay Velukutty handles the editing.
Karthi’s work front
Karthi was last seen in the lead role in Vaa Vaathiyaar. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the film follows a police officer who is influenced by his grandfather to embrace qualities inspired by the iconic on-screen characters portrayed by MG Ramachandran.
As a result, he develops an alter ego that stands up against wrongdoing while adopting the persona of an MGR-inspired character. Apart from the Thozha actor, the film also stars Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, and Rajkiran in key roles. The movie is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
Apart from Sardar 2, Karthi is also part of the period action film Marshal. Set in the 1960s, the film is being mounted on a grand scale with meticulous attention to detail and features the actor in a rugged new avatar. Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female lead, while Aadhi Pinisetty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Jayaram are also part of the cast.
