A 19-year-old medical aspirant from Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar district allegedly died by suicide after struggling with depression over her NEET (UG) results.
Her family claimed the stress was compounded by the irregularities related to the entrance examination.

Ankita Sangale was found hanging at her home on Saturday when no one else was present, police said. A case has been registered by the police in connection with the death and a probe has been initiated.

She had been under extreme stress ever since, her father said. According to him, the teenager failed to clear the cut-off for the NEET (UG) re-examination by 11 marks.
Ankita became anxious following reports of irregularities in the initial examination, her father said. A purported suicide note has been recovered from the scene.
In the letter, Ankita repeatedly asked her family not to blame themselves for her death and expressed regret that she could not fulfil her dream despite making sacrifices for the examination.
"Mom and Dad, you gave me so much love, but I could not fulfill even a single one of your wishes. Please forgive me." she wrote. "None of you are responsible for my suicide."
She also urged her family not to grieve after her death, writing that she had already sacrificed a great deal for NEET but could not achieve her goal.
The incident came on the same day Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as the Union Education Minister following widespread protests over the handling of the NEET controversy.
Besides the resignation, compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak was also one of the main demands of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which spearheaded the agitation from Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
The outfit has received assurances from the Central government on two of its pending demands, including the one for compensation.
