Top drug syndicate kingpin Virender Baisoya has been brought to India from Dubai, officials said. He is an accused in the Rs 6,000-crore Pune drug case, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had issued a Red Corner Notice against him.
Baisoya was brought back on Air India flight number 4310. He was arrested in Dubai and deported to India following an initiative by the Government of India.
According to the information, Baisoya is a close associate of Sandeep Dhuniya, the prime accused in a major Delhi Police drug case involving 13,000 cases. Dhuniya reportedly managed to flee from Dubai to Pakistan.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the government is taking a “ruthless approach" to tracking down drug traffickers hiding abroad and dismantling their networks.
In a post on X, Shah said the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had secured the return of fugitive drug kingpin Virender Singh Basoya from the UAE, calling it a new milestone in the government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.

He said Indian agencies had traced Basoya through a “top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top approach" and asserted that drug traffickers would not be able to evade Indian law regardless of where they hide.
