Performance

In terms of performance, many may think that the Tayron R-line will be an easy winner, right? Well, not so easily. The Tayron R-line is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 201bhp and 320Nm of torque along with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and AWD. And we must say, those are some impressive figures. However, the XUV7XO, at half the price of the VW SUV, also gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 200bhp and 380Nm of torque along with a 6-speed AT. So, the XUV7XO produced almost the same power and 60 more Nm of torque than the Tayron R-line. Yes, the Tayron R-line does offer AWD, but you can get that in the Mahindra XUV7XO with the diesel powertrain. Also an advantage to the XUV7XO is its diesel – a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 182bhp and 450Nm of torque along with a 6-speed AT and AWD.

Mahindra XUV7XO Features – Verdict

So, the Mahindra XUV7XO with its top-spec offers so many features and better ADAS tech, as it is Level 2+ as opposed to the Tayron R-line’s Level 2 ADAS. At half the price, you get most of the features that the Tayron R-line has to offer, along with a few additional features, adding even more value to the XUV7XO’s proposition. While both cars are still different in terms of size, stature and the premiumness of the cabin, the features and performance, to some extent, are comparable. By this, we can conclude that the XUV7XO offers impressive value for money, while the Tayron R-line, even though aggressively priced, still lacks the value-for-money proposition Indian buyers look out for.
