Renault India has confirmed that the Kwid facelift will be officially launched on 3 July. While the brand is yet to share full details ahead of the reveal, spy shots and what we know so far point to an update that refreshes the car's looks and adds new features without altering what is under the bonnet.
On the outside, the Kwid facelift is expected to take design cues from the Dacia Spring, Renault's global budget EV lending it a more contemporary look. The most notable visual change is the addition of Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps, a design element also seen on the new Duster and the broader Renault family. The tail lamps are expected to follow the same Y-shaped motif at the rear, while the front and rear bumpers are likely to be redesigned as well. A new set of wheels is also on the cards. The headlamps, however, are expected to continue with halogen units rather than making the switch to full LEDs.
The cabin is where the more meaningful upgrades are likely to be. A larger touchscreen infotainment system is expected to replace the current unit, bringing the Kwid more in line with what buyers in this segment now expect as standard. A new steering wheel design, a revised instrument cluster, and a refreshed interior theme are also anticipated. Renault may also use this update to bump up the safety package, with six airbags potentially making it to the updated Kwid's specification sheet.
