Renault India has announced the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures for the Duster Turbo TCe 100, nearly three months after the SUV’s launch in March 2026. While Renault had revealed mileage figures for the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo petrol variants in March, the efficiency rating of the entry-level 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine had remained undisclosed until now.
Renault Duster 1.0 Turbo Mileage Announced
The company has now confirmed that the Duster Turbo TCe 100 delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 km/l, making it one of the most fuel-efficient turbo petrol SUVs in its segment. The Duster Turbo TCe 100 is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine developing 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque. It is offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is positioned as the entry point into the new-generation Duster lineup.
Commenting on the development, Dr. V. Vikraman, Chief of Renault Engineering, Renault Group India, said that the mileage figure reflects Renault’s focus on balancing performance and efficiency through turbocharging and optimized combustion technology. Built on Renault’s new RGMP platform, the 1.0-litre turbo powertrain has been specifically calibrated for the Duster. According to Renault, the setup is designed to deliver responsive performance while maintaining low running costs for everyday driving.
Interestingly, this is not the first time an OEM has revealed mileage figures months after launch. Tata Motors followed a similar strategy with Sierra earlier this year, announcing certified fuel efficiency figures sometime after the vehicle had already gone on sale.
Duster vs Rivals Mileage
With a certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 km/l, the Duster Turbo TCe 100 compares favourably against several popular petrol SUVs in the segment. Among direct rivals, Hyundai Creta 1.5 NA petrol returns up to 17.7 km/l, Kia Seltos 1.5 NA petrol is rated at 16.5 km/l, while Honda Elevate petrol delivers up to 16.92 km/l. Even several larger turbo petrol SUVs trail the Duster’s efficiency figure.
The Duster TCe 100 also exceeds the mileage of its more powerful sibling. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol Duster is rated at 17.75 km/l with the manual gearbox and 18.45 km/l with the automatic transmission. Only a handful of mainstream SUVs currently offer higher claimed fuel efficiency. These include diesel-powered models such as Hyundai Creta Diesel (21.8 km/l) and Tata Sierra Diesel (21.26 km/l), while Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid remains the outright leader with a certified 27.97 km/l.
Duster Price, Engine Options
Renault currently offers the Duster with two turbocharged petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre Turbo TCe 100 is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 13.49 lakh, while the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo petrol range is priced from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The 1.3-litre engine produces significantly higher performance and is available with automatic transmission options, targeting buyers looking for a more premium driving experience.
Hybrid Duster Coming This Year
Renault is also preparing to expand the Duster lineup further. A strong-hybrid version of the SUV is expected to be launched around Diwali 2026, giving Renault a direct rival to hybrid SUVs such as Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid and Toyota Hyryder Hybrid.
With the addition of the hybrid variant later this year and the newly announced 19.41 km/l efficiency figure for the TCe 100, Renault is strengthening Duster’s appeal across both performance-focused and fuel-conscious buyers in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
