REGEN 2026, a two-day international conference on regenerative medicine and orthobiologics, recently held in Mumbai featured the internationally developed Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) Consensus Guidelines, a new biological classification for knee osteoarthritis, and sessions on PRP, BMAC, MFAT and emerging regenerative technologies.
The event brought together leading orthopedic and regenerative medicine experts from India, France, Brazil, Italy and the USA to advance evidence-based regenerative orthopedics.
The BMAC Consensus Guidelines, jointly developed by leading experts from India, Europe and the USA represent a collaborative effort to establish greater consistency and an evidence-based framework for the clinical use of BMAC in regenerative orthopedics.

The BMAC Consensus Guidelines, jointly developed by leading experts from India, Europe and the USA represent a collaborative effort to establish greater consistency and an evidence-based framework for the clinical use of BMAC in regenerative orthopedics.
The conference also featured the presentation of a new biological classification for knee osteoarthritis by Dr. Sharmila Tulpule, offering a perspective beyond the conventional Kellgren-Lawrence radiographic system and highlighting the importance of biological factors in assessing osteoarthritis.

The two-day conference featured international experts including Prof. Nicola Maffulli, Dr. Fabio Sciarretta, Dr. Nathan Katz, Dr. Don Buford and Dr. Massimo Piracci, alongside leading Indian specialists. Discussions covered PRP, BMAC, MFAT and other orthobiologics, with sessions focusing on clinical evidence, patient selection, treatment protocols and emerging regenerative technologies.
