ProTec General Insurance will be allowed to undertake general insurance business under the applicable regulatory framework.
The four registrations granted so far in calendar 2026 include two general insurers , one health insurer and one reinsurer, Irdai said.The regulator approved amendments to the actuarial, finance and investment regulations and the rules governing registration, capital structure, share transfers and amalgamations.Irdai approved the Irdai (Policyholders' Education and Protection Fund) Regulations, 2026, operationalising the Policyholders ' Education and Protection Fund created under the amended law.
