Prof. Murthy S. Gudipati, an alumnus of School of Chemistry has been awarded the CRSI Medal (NRI) for the year 2026 in recognition of his research contributions to Astrochemistry.
This medal is conferred on Chemists of Indian Origin working outside India and who have contributed extensively to the promotion of Chemical Research, currently holding the position of a Senior Research Scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, USA.
Prof. Gudipati obtained an MSc (Chemistry) degree from the University of Hyderabad with Gold Medal in 1981.
Subsequently, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, for which he received the best thesis award (Guha Medal) in 1987.
