In his writ petition, Chinnayya alleged that he was instructed to give statements as directed by certain individuals and claimed that Prakash Raj had spoken to him in Tamil.
The petition further alleged that the actor told him, "I will come and hug you on the 29th."

Since this is an extremely sensitive matter.. and one that has hurt the faith of millions of devotees.. it is also my duty to respond to such doubts."

Prakash Raj added that he was currently away and would speak soon. "I am far away. In another two days, I will personally come and respond through media friends. Until then, do not believe the hot air.. and the wings and feathers that some scoundrels are trying to attach to this news," he said.

What is Dharamsthala case?
The Dharmasthala mass-burial case came into the spotlight in 2025 after a former sanitation worker alleged that he had been forced to bury hundreds of bodies in and around the temple town over nearly two decades. His claims triggered a major investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which began digging at several locations he identified. The case grabbed national attention because of the disturbing stories linked to the alleged burials, including claims of unidentified victims, missing persons and skeletons found during excavation. While investigators continue to examine the evidence, many questions about what happened in Dharmasthala remain unanswered.
