Sanyal, son of PM Modi's Economic Advisory Council member Sanjiv Sanyal, was cutting weight ahead of his competition.
A Nepalese athlete found him unconscious.
MMA Sports Federation of India president Nikhil Kundera said Sanyal is now stable.
