Despite backlash, Ram Charan expresses gratitude to viewers for Peddi’s success
Ram Charan and the team of Peddi attended the film’s success event, with Chiranjeevi appearing as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, the Racha actor said, “I remember a dialogue from the Tagore movie. Telugu people don’t like anyone that easily, but once they do, they love them till death. Much like that, no matter who said what and no matter what reviews were written, this film is truly not ours; it belongs to the audience.”
For those unaware, Peddi generated extensive online discussions, with many viewers sharing differing opinions about the characterization of Achiyamma and certain creative choices in the film.
In an earlier interaction with a media portal, director Buchi Babu Sana said, “I had not anticipated that the scenes would be perceived so negatively by audiences. The idea was to showcase a playful romance between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. However, we’ll be more careful and strive for better representation in the future.”
