Telugu film Peddi collected Rs. 12.50 crore approx on Tuesday at the Indian box office. The drop from Monday was around 20 per cent, which is a standard weekday drop for a big Telugu film. The drop was higher in the Telugu states, at closer to 25 per cent, with the nationwide drop becoming lower due to growth of the Hindi version on discount Tuesday. This brings its running total to Rs. 210 crore approx, topping the Rs. 200 crore mark on the sixth day of its release.

The film is performing the best in the home territory of the Telugu states. Within that, it is strongest in the coastal districts, which are recording higher weekday collections than films like Pushpa 2 and Kalki 2898 AD, films which feature in the top grossers of all time. The film is on course to do BLOCKBUSTER business in the Telugu states, thanks to coastal districts.
Elsewhere, Karnataka has done decently well, but others are a disappointment. The film is also carrying big production costs. While the producers have covered themselves by selling the distribution rights to third-party distributors, some of whom are going to incur heavy losses, especially overseas. Overall, it’s not a lost cause yet, as it needs to be seen where it ends. This film doesn’t need to have those high costs for what it is. For the costs that the film has, it needed to score in the Hindi market, but the Hindi dubbed version has failed to make an impact.
