On Wednesday (August 12, 2026), Amit Shah said he was willing to have a full debate on the students’ protests against the NEET paper ‘leak’, while Mr. Rijiju stated that the government was ready to “increase the time” allotted for a debate on the issue. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, however, rejected the offer of a discussion, stating that the youth wanted answers on who ordered the firing on and police assault of protesters and “not a lecture” from Mr. Shah.
