In the Rajya Sabha, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is expected to move the Supreme Court (Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026 for consideration and passage.
The bill, which seeks to increase the sanctioned strength of Supreme Court judges to 38, has already been passed by the Lok Sabha.
The Opposition has been demanding answers from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the police action during the Cockroach Janta Party's 'Chalo Sansad' march on July 20.
Opposition MPs have also repeatedly questioned the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah from the House proceedings.
Along with seeking a discussion on the police action against the protesters, the Opposition has also been pressing for a debate on the alleged theft of donations meant for the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
