The Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2), and CMF Phone 1 are not eligible for the Nothing OS 5.0 update, as we reported previously.
As for the open beta, it won’t be released for Phone (3a) Lite and CMF Phone 2 Pro.
The Phone (4a) Pro could enter beta in early September and launch in early November, while the Phone (4a), Phone (3a) Pro and Phone (3a) are expected to begin beta testing in late September before their early-November releases.

Nothing OS 5.0, the latest version of its proprietary Android interface, based on Android 17, has revealed Nothing. The update features a new user interface, claimed performance improvements and expanded AI-powered features. Nothing has also released its roadmap for beta testing and wider stable release, with the Open Beta program kicking off on August 26.
The Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2), and CMF Phone 1 are not eligible for the Nothing OS 5.0 update, as we reported previously. As for the open beta, it won’t be released for Phone (3a) Lite and CMF Phone 2 Pro.
Nothing OS 5.0 rollout schedule
Open Beta will go live on August 26 for the Phone (3), and will keep expanding to more phones up until mid-December. Stable will be rolled out mid-October for the Phone (3), and will cover all other phones by January 2027.
The Phone (4a) Pro could enter beta in early September and launch in early November, while the Phone (4a), Phone (3a) Pro and Phone (3a) are expected to begin beta testing in late September before their early-November releases.
The Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus are likely to enter beta in mid-October and launch in mid-November, while the Phone (3a) Lite is expected to arrive in late December without an open beta phase. The Phone (4b) could begin beta testing in mid-December before its general release in mid-January, while the CMF Phone 2 Pro is also expected to launch in mid-January without an open beta.
Nothing OS 5.0 brings a major design refresh, a more adaptive home screen, new ways to use widgets, faster and smoother animations, improved Essential AI tools and the best of Android 17.

How to install Nothing OS 5.0 Beta on your phone?
Once you become eligible for the beta testing program for your Nothing phone, you will be able to join the program using these simple steps:
Ensure that your phone is running the latest version of the software.
Install the latest Nothing Beta Hub V2.0 APK.
Head to Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub.
Tap on Check Version.
Press Join Beta to enroll in the program.
Tap Go to Update to install the beta version.
In case you do not see the Go to Update option, go to Settings > System > System Updates.
