Nothing has officially ended software support for its original Phone (1) following one last software update.
In a post this week, Nothing confirmed that the July 2026 update marks the end of the Phone (1)’s lifecycle, with software updates finished.
Nothing promised three major Android updates and four years of security updates.
Over the years, Phone (1) has grown with Nothing OS and helped shape the software experience we continue to build today.
While this marks the end of its software lifecycle, the device remains highly usable and an important part of the Nothing story.

In a post this week, Nothing confirmed that the July 2026 update marks the end of the Phone (1)’s lifecycle, with software updates finished. Nothing promised three major Android updates and four years of security updates.
Phone (1) debuted with Android 12, eventually getting Android 15 in early 2025.
The latest update is a final sendoff, but a pretty inconsequential place to close the book, just delivering the July 2026 security patch and some assorted bug fixes.

Nothing Phone (1) owners have some solid sequels to move into, with Phone (4a) Pro being one of our favorite releases so far in 2026 – though the company has quietly stopped selling the 128GB model on Amazon in the US recently, despite still offering it through Best Buy and its own online store.
