Reveals spoiler, tail lamp, and bumper design
Official debut on 9 July
With its launch just around the corner on 9 July, the Nissan Tekton has been spotted out in the open for the first time. A single leaked image doing the rounds on the internet gives us our clearest look yet at the upcoming SUV, and it reveals more than Nissan may have intended to show ahead of the official reveal.
The image captures the rear profile of the Tekton in a grey colour shade. And while Nissan has worked to give it its own identity, the shared DNA with its platform cousin, the Renault Duster is clearly visible. The rear spoiler, wiper, and windscreen are carried over directly from the Duster. The differences, however, are there if you look closely. The tail lamp design is distinct from the Duster's, the rear bumper gets a silver insert in place of the Duster's treatment, and the roof rail design is different as well. The 'Tekton' lettering on the tailgate follows the same approach as the Duster's nameplate script.
The front end has not been spotted undisguised yet, but based on official teasers and information shared by Nissan, the Tekton's nose draws inspiration from the larger Nissan Patrol. Expect a full-width red accent stripe, connected DRLs, and an inverted L-shaped DRL motif flanking LED headlamps.
On the features front, the Tekton is expected to arrive well-equipped. A 10.1-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, cooled and electrically adjustable front seats, and Level 2 ADAS are all anticipated to be part of the package.
Under the bonnet, the Tekton will share the Duster's powertrain options including a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol, both available with manual and automatic gearboxes. Full details, including prices and the complete specification, will be revealed at launch on 9 July.
