Bangladesh's Nigar Sultana is set to step down as T20I captain following the Asian Games.
Nigar formally communicated it to the board in a letter from Japan on Tuesday (September 15).
Nigar has led Bangladesh's T20I side since taking over the captaincy in 2022.
One of the biggest successes of her tenure came at the 2024 T20 World Cup, when Bangladesh defeated Scotland to register their first World Cup victory in a decade.
Nigar also made a significant contribution with the bat and gloves in that tournament, scoring 104 runs in four innings and effecting seven dismissals behind the wickets.

Cricbuzz understands that Nigar had already informed the board of her decision to relinquish captaincy in the 20-over format as she wants to focus more on her batting and wicketkeeping while continuing to lead the side in ODIs.
