The woman, Pratiksha Hiwrale, plunged from the window of a flat in Sunshine Building on Lake Road.
She was then taken to a private hospital in a private ambulance.
She was later shifted to Sion Hospital for surgery, a civic official said.
She is currently admitted to the emergency ward at Sion Hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police said they will take further legal action after Hiwrale regains consciousness, and they are able to record her statement.
A 26-year-old woman was dramatically rescued by the Mumbai Fire Brigade on Wednesday morning after she allegedly jumped from the 10th floor of a building in suburban Bhandup and landed in an adjacent tree instead of hitting the ground.
The woman, Pratiksha Hiwrale, plunged from the window of a flat in Sunshine Building on Lake Road. She landed in a tree and was found hanging about 20-25 feet above the ground.

The incident took place at Sunshine Co-operative Housing Society in Tulshetpada, Bhandup West. The fire brigade was alerted at around 9.32 am, following which personnel rushed to the spot to rescue the woman.
Fire brigade personnel used a hook ladder to reach Hiwrale and bring her safely down from the tree. She was then taken to a private hospital in a private ambulance.
Doctors said she suffered an injury to her left leg. She was later shifted to Sion Hospital for surgery, a civic official said.
According to police, Hiwrale got married just four months ago. She is currently admitted to the emergency ward at Sion Hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police have not yet been able to record her statement because of her condition and have obtained a medical endorsement regarding it. Her family at her parental home has been informed about the incident.
