Mahindra BE.09 – What To Expect?
When Mahindra showcased its concept models, the BE.09 stood out. The term “BE” stands for Born-electric, indicating that the BE.09 will be offered only as an EV. From the BE range, the BE6 was the first to come, and it will be followed by the BE.07 and the BE.09.
From the concept images, the BE.09 is a coupe-SUV. Mahindra already has a coupe-SUV in its lineup – the XEV 9S, but it doesn’t seem enough. The BE09 sports a design language similar to the BE.06, with C-shaped headlights and taillights, aggressive cuts and creases, and a functional hood scoop. Its dimensions also seem larger than those of the BE06. The BE.09 could cater to those who want the aggressive looks of the BE.06 but don’t want to sacrifice any practicality.

Mahindra BE.09 – Powertrain
We expect the BE.09 to be offered with 3 powertrains: 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh. The claimed ranges for these packs are around 520 km, 600 km, and 670 km, respectively. Pricing & Launch
There is only one other electric coupe-SUV under Rs 50 lakh: the XEV9S. So upon launch, the BE.09 would compete against its own sibling. At the same time, it is expected to compete against traditional EV SUVs like the Tata Harrier.ev, BYD Atto 3 and the Vinfast VF7. This means it could be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 35 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
At the moment, it is very likely that the BE.07 will be the next SUV launched under the BE brand. The BE.09’s launch is expected in late 2028 or early 2029.
