Hyundai will be launching a new SUV in India that will sit between the Venue and Creta in its lineup. Recently, in the FY27 earnings call, the brand specified that it will be two new SUVs within this fiscal year. The first will be the Bayon-based SUV; following it will be a new compact SUV.

New Hyundai SUV Launch: When Will It Launch?
Hyundai’s new Bayon-based SUV will be the brand’s second entry in the mid-size 5-seat segment. The automaker has said that this new SUV will debut during the festive season and will be slotted below the Creta and above the Venue in its portfolio. With Creta already a best-selling product in that segment, Hyundai will try to nerf this new SUV – but it will be an interesting product for those who crave good mileage figures.
Industry sources claimed that Hyundai might only offer the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine from the Creta. So, it will miss out on the 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Additionally, Hyundai will also be offering a CNG option paired with the NA engine. Hyundai already has the HY-CNG (dual CNG tank) option, but sources suggest that the CNG tank on this SUV will be fitted to its underbody – like the Victoris.

This new mid-size SUV will be based on the Hyundai Bayon’s platform, which measures 4.18m in length. So, it will be a good option for those who want a bigger model than the Venue, and also don’t want to lose out on mileage. Speaking of the pricing, we expect this new SUV to range between Rs. 11.5 lakh – 17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Features
In terms of features, expect the Hyundai Bayon to be quite a loaded SUV. The interior theme could be more like the Venue. Features that we expect include: dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, multiple drive modes, powered front seats, reclining rear seats, a premium sound system, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and 6 airbags.

What Else?
Apart from the Bayon-based SUV, Hyundai will also launch a new compact electric SUV. The SUV has been spotted testing quite a few times, and we expect it to be Hyundai’s own version of the Kia Syros EV. The Korean automaker might make a few changes here and there, as the Kia Syros EV shares its powertrain details with the Hyundai Creta EV, and having another model of the same battery might lower the Creta electric’s sales numbers.
