Royal Enfield is set to launch the new Classic 350 Gorkha Edition in India on 18th August 2026. Ahead of its launch, the first units have started arriving at dealer yard.

New Gorkha Edition does not get any major styling changes over the regular Classic 350. The overall motorcycle remains the same in terms of design, body panels, cycle parts and equipment. The special edition is essentially differentiated by a new colour scheme and Gorkha-specific graphics.

Classic 350 Gorkha Edition – New Colour

The biggest visual change is the new light military green / olive green paint finish, similar to shades commonly associated with army vehicles. Royal Enfield has not yet officially revealed the colour name. This shade is closely associated with the Gorkha Regiment and gives the motorcycle a distinctive military-green appearance.

Apart from the colour, Royal Enfield has added Gorkha Edition graphics on the fuel tank and side panels. The side panel carries the crossed Khukri motif along with Gorkha Edition branding, while the fuel tank also gets a dedicated Gorkha Edition sticker. Beyond these changes, the bike remains visually identical to the regular Classic 350.

Tribute to the Gorkha Regiment

The new edition pays tribute to the Gorkha Regiments, which are among the most respected infantry units in the Indian Army. Soldiers of Nepali and Indian Gorkha origin have long been known for their bravery, combat skills and discipline. The crossed Khukri seen on the side panel is a direct reference to the traditional curved knife associated with Gorkha soldiers. Their famous battle cry is “Aayo Gorkhali!”, which translates to “The Gorkhas are here”.

Features remain unchanged

The spy shots confirm that the Gorkha Edition continues with the familiar semi-digital instrument cluster comprising an analogue speedometer and LCD display. It gets wire-spoke wheels, a two-piece rider and pillion seat setup, round mirrors, chrome exhaust, chrome headlamp bezel and the familiar Classic 350 bodywork. Tripper navigation pod is missing.

Royal Enfield had recently updated dual-channel ABS variants of the Classic 350 with an assist and slipper clutch and a USB Type-C fast charging port. These features are expected to be offered on the Gorkha Edition as well. There are no mechanical changes expected.

Same 349cc engine – Launch 18th Aug

Powering the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition will be the familiar 349cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled J-series engineproducing 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm. It continues to be paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension and braking hardware also remain unchanged, with telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield currently offers Classic 350 in multiple variants including Heritage Classic, Heritage Premium, Signals, Dark, Classic Chrome and Redditch. Pricing of new Gorkha Edition will be announced at launch on 18th August. With dealer dispatches already underway, deliveries are expected to begin soon after launch.
