The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been launched in India at Rs. 2.20 crore. This is the first time that Mercedes is bringing a PHEV version of the S-Class to India and bookings for it have opened from today, with deliveries set to take place from Q4 of 2026.
The S-Class PHEV will be made available in the S450e guise, which makes use of the German automaker’s 3.0-litre inline-six petrol paired to a 22kWh battery pack and 120kW motor. This combination has a total output of 449bhp and 680Nm. It will offer an electric-only range of up to 115kms and can be fast charged up to 60kW. The automaker claims a mileage of 32.3kmpl. We expect that down the line.
In addition to the PHEV powertrain, this new S-Class now gets a new grille, new wheels and a new design for the tail lamps. In addition to the already extensive feature list, Mercedes is offering a 13.1-inch infotainment system with twin wireless controllers, 15 airbags and a 31-speaker Burmester sound system as a part of the package.
