Should You Wait For The New Generation Tata Nexon?

The Tata Nexon is one of the most loved SUVs in India, and it will soon receive a generational update. Tata has been tight-lipped about the SUV’s update details. However, we expect the model to include several cosmetic changes and new feature additions.

Industry sources suggest that the new generation Nexon will be built on the same X1 platform. Surely, there will be some changes made to the architecture. According to sources, the Tata Nexon will undergo a major overhaul on the inside, including an all-new cabin layout. Expect it to be similar to the current-gen Tata models.

The Nexon is quite loaded with features – moreover, it is also currently the most affordable SUV offering a panoramic sunroof. So, we only expect some feature additions, like Level 2+ ADAS, a larger infotainment unit, and a JBL sound system, in its package. The exact list of features is expected to be revealed as we near its launch.

Will Hybrid Be Included?

While other automakers have already started planning new hybrids, Tata is yet to make a move. So, a Nexon hybrid might still be some time away, as the Indian automaker has yet to reveal any information on the subject.

If Nexon gets a hybrid, another addition to its multi-powertrain setup will be impressive to look at. But, at present, we don’t have any information regarding that. We expect the same powertrain setup – a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol CNG, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Should You Wait For The New-Gen?

Surely, we could see several new additions and a new design in the new-generation model. So, if you don’t want to miss out on anything, the new generation model really makes sense. However, if you don’t want to wait long, you can go ahead and buy the current model. But just as soon as the new-gen model hits the market, the current-gen model could fetch some huge deals.
