Aiming to boost sales during the upcoming festive season, Bajaj will be introducing 10 new models in the next six weeks. These will include two all-new Pulsar models, likely the next-gen versions of Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150. During its Q1, FY27 Earnings Conference Call, Bajaj also talked about its plans to increase production capacity. This is primarily for its electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

New Pulsar bikes, Chetak variants

Pulsar bikes deserve special attention, as they contribute close to 2/3rd of the company’s overall two-wheeler sales. Bajaj has introduced new features and updated models at regular intervals. In the next six weeks, two new Pulsar models will be introduced in the 125cc and 150cc segments.

New-gen Pulsar 125 has already been spotted on road tests. Some major changes are expected such as a redesigned chassis layout and a centrally mounted rear monoshock suspension. New Pulsar 125 could be offered in both single-piece seat and split seat configurations. Tech package could be upgraded with features like LED headlights, Bluetooth connectivity and a new digital cluster.

A similar set of updates are also expected with the new Pulsar 150. The powertrain could also be updated for these two new Pulsar bikes. Primary objectives could be improved low-end torque for seamless urban commuting, higher mileage and reduced NVH levels. In terms of their design, the core silhouette of Pulsar Classic range is expected to be retained in most parts.

Bajaj will also focus on the EV segment, which already contributes close to 20% to the brand’s overall two-wheeler sales. New Chetak variants are among the 10 new models planned for launch. Bajaj Executive Director Rakesh Sharma has confirmed these plans. Rakesh said that the next six months will see very interesting launches, capable of opening new segments.

Production capacity expansion

To meet growing demand, Bajaj is aiming to increase its production capacity. As of now, the production capacity is around 7.2 million units per annum. Bajaj has plans to increase this to more than 9 million units per annum. This increase in production capacity will be achieved over a period of several quarters.

Increased production capacity will be achieved through both brownfield expansion and establishment of a new greenfield plant. The latter could take some time, since the location is yet to be finalized. Bajaj will use the increased production capacity primarily for its electric two-wheelers, electric three-wheelers and premium motorcycles. Some ICE three-wheeler models will also be included.
