Skoda Superb: Expected Fuel Economy
Skoda revealed the launch timeline for its upcoming models earlier this year. The Czech automaker was quite secretive about the Superb, referring to it as a “global icon”. Enthusiasts didn’t take long to join the dots, and it was quite obvious that Skoda is bringing back the Superb. It could be launched by late 2026. It will be brought in via the CBU route, so expect it to cost upwards of Rs. 65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Furthermore, the Superb was also showcased at the Indian Auto Expo in 2025, further clarifying Skoda’s plans.
The model that was showcased was the diesel AWD, and the same powertrain is expected in India. This powertrain for the Superb was tested under controlled conditions in Europe. It yielded a staggering fuel efficiency of 40 km/l across 2,800 kms. Predictably, on the brochure, these numbers are much lower. The European-spec model offers a claimed mileage of 20 km/l, which is still a decent figure for a car that is almost five metres long.

Skoda Superb: What Else?
Globally, it is also offered as a hybrid, which is unlikely to be launched in India. The 2.0-litre TDI diesel is expected to return on the India-spec model. This diesel engine is capable of producing 150 bhp & 360 Nm of torque. A seven-speed DSG sends power to all four wheels. And if the market demands a petrol powertrain, Skoda could use the 2.0-litre TSI from the Kodiaq on the Superb.

In terms of features, we expect it to get a Level-2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, a 13-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 15-speaker Canton sound system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and power front seats with a massaging function, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless charger, and much more.
