Sanju Khatri, a police officer with Nepal’s Armed Police Force, said teams searched the area and began removing the rubble. They eventually found Manisha trapped underneath the soil and debris. It took about two hours to bring her out. Video from the rescue shows the moment the young girl was pulled alive from the rubble.
Manisha was alive but barely responsive when rescuers found her, said the BBC report.
Bad Weather Delays Evacuation
The rescue team called for a helicopter to evacuate the child, but bad weather prevented the aircraft from taking her to hospital. Instead, rescuers took Manisha to the force’s rescue camp, where she was given water. She regained consciousness after some time, added the BBC report.
The team then began giving her boiled rice water to help revive her.
Manisha was traumatised after the ordeal, but rescuers continued caring for her until she could be flown to Kathmandu.
On Saturday afternoon, she was taken by air to the paediatric emergency department of the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.
A hospital official said Manisha was in a stable condition. In an update on Sunday, the hospital said she was recovering.

Nepal Begins Burial Of Recovered Bodies
The rescue of Manisha came as Nepal continued to deal with the enormous death toll from the floods.
Nepal said on Sunday that it had started temporarily burying some of the hundreds of bodies recovered after the disaster. Authorities took DNA samples from the victims and marked the bodies so that families can identify them and retrieve them later.
The dead are traditionally cremated on funeral pyres in Hindu-majority Nepal. The temporary burials are therefore being treated as long-term storage until relatives can retrieve the remains for the necessary rituals.
Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai said authorities had carefully recorded everyone who had been buried. However, he appealed for international assistance, saying Nepal needed “more than a thousand" freezer units to preserve bodies safely.
Death Toll Rises To 788
The announcement came as Nepal’s disaster ministry raised the number of recovered bodies to 788 on Sunday.
A further 2,502 people remain missing, according to the updated figures. The list includes 589 foreigners who are still unaccounted for.
