So the official announcement shouldn’t be long now — though Rogers himself will surely be going on post-World Cup holidays for at least a couple weeks before joining up with the team.
Chelsea moved swiftly to secure our newest (partly market inflation-driven) club-record signing, gazumping Arsenal and getting the 23-year-old to join the Blues instead of the Premier League champions.
Obviously, £117m is no joke and that will place added pressure on the former Manchester City prospect to succeed, even with two and a half seasons of Premier League football already under his belt (21 goals, 19 assists in 85 Premier League games for Aston Villa).
