Former East Bengal forward Sayan Banerjee came off the bench to score the winner for 10-man Bagan as it lifted the CFL title after eight years, and its 31st overall.

Though Bagan entered the match as the favourite, it was pushed back by a gritty show by the Black Panthers, who struck twice through goals from Lalremsanga Fanai and captain Mahitosh Roy to take a 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute.
