Bellring Games has announced Mistfall Hunter, a dark fantasy action RPG with perilous expeditions, strategic combat, and risky extraction, as the company enters the action RPG market. The game launched on July 29, 2026, for PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Published by Skystone Games, it introduces a grim world where every successful escape can strengthen the player’s next journey. The release also arrived on Xbox Game Pass on day one, giving more players an opportunity to experience the hunt.

Dark Fantasy Extraction RPG Brings a Fresh Challenge

The dark fantasy extraction RPG places players in the role of Gyldhunters, warriors sent into corrupted regions filled with monsters, valuable resources, and rival players. Each expedition follows a clear risk-and-reward structure. Players drop into a hostile zone, looking for a way out safely while scavenging for weapons, materials and cash. If you die on an expedition, you lose everything you have collected on that run.

Escaping is not just about getting to the edge of the map. Players will have to track down and kill a rare creature called the Returner Woodling. It drops the Soul of Return, which is an item needed to leave the dangerous area with the equipment and resources collected.

A Gyldenmist and a World Created by Gods

Mistfall Hunter is set after a devastating war between the Gods and Outer Gods. The fallen divine beings released a mysterious substance called the Gyldenmist which brought corruption and madness upon the land. Civilisation is mostly in ruins, with ruined settlements, dangerous creatures, and survivors fighting against what the mist left behind.

Players will control fallen warriors who have been resurrected by Dew, a mysterious being related to the last remaining power of the Fate Goddess. Gyldhunters must enter the ruins to fight corrupted enemies, collect Gyldenblood, recover valuable equipment, and help preserve what remains of the world.

Combat Combines Steel, Magic, and Class Builds

Bellring Games has designed combat around third-person movement, positioning, timing, and weapon selection. Players can combine class skills, talents, and equipment to create builds that match their preferred approach. Weapons can also be switched during combat, allowing players to respond to different monsters and rival teams.

The six classes are Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, Seer and Withered Knight. These roles suit various play styles, such as close-range defence, archery, spellcasting, stealth, healing and crowd control. The Withered Knight wields a two-handed greatsword and has a sigil system that rewards careful positioning and planned attacks.

Players can play Gyldenmist solo or in a team of three. But corrupted monsters are only half the threat. PvPvE framework: competing Gyldhunters can compete for the same loot and extraction opportunities. That uncertainty leaves a normal monster hunt open to quickly becoming a tense battle with another team.
