Unlike Anthropic's Mythos, which is available only to a limited group of trusted organizations through Project Glasswing, Microsoft's approach reportedly combines models from Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic into a multi-model architecture focused on enterprise-scale vulnerability discovery. The strategy aligns with Microsoft's broader security vision that no single AI model will dominate cyber defense; instead, multiple specialized AI agents working together can deliver greater accuracy and resilience.

Microsoft has already demonstrated the effectiveness of this approach through its MDASH (Multi-Model Agentic Scanning Harness), which orchestrates more than 100 AI agents to autonomously discover, validate, and prioritize software vulnerabilities. According to Microsoft, MDASH identified 16 previously unknown Windows vulnerabilities, including four critical remote code execution flaws, and achieved the highest score on the CyberGym benchmark for AI-assisted vulnerability discovery.

The competition intensified after Anthropic's Claude Mythos demonstrated unprecedented cybersecurity capabilities, reportedly identifying more than 10,000 high- and critical-severity vulnerabilities across widely used software through Project Glasswing.
