Maruti Suzuki recorded strong sales growth in May 2026, posting total domestic sales of 1,90,337 units. This marks a growth of 39.99% over 1,35,962 units sold in May 2025. The company’s volume growth was driven by strong demand for Dzire, Fronx, Baleno, Ertiga, WagonR and Victoris.
Maruti Sales Breakup May 2026
Dzire emerged as Maruti Suzuki’s highest-selling model in May 2026 with 24,546 units sold. Compared to 18,084 units sold in May 2025, sales increased by 35.73%, translating to an additional 6,462 units. Dzire accounted for 12.9% of Maruti’s total sales during the month. The compact sedan also registered a 4.1% month-on-month growth over April 2026, when it sold 23,580 units.
Fronx secured second place with 20,686 units, recording a healthy 52.28% YoY growth. It was closely followed by Ertiga at 20,350 units, up 26.08% from a year ago. Baleno continued its strong performance with 18,396 units, registering a 58.34% YoY increase. WagonR and Swift also remained among the brand’s volume drivers, selling 18,076 units and 17,519 units respectively.
Victoris recorded sales of 10,853 units in its first full year on sale, contributing 5.7% to Maruti’s overall volumes. While sales declined 20.79% compared to April 2026, Victoris still managed to enter Maruti’s top 10 best-selling models list. Launched in Sep last year, Victoris total sales have now crossed the 1 lakh mark in 9 months.
Among Maruti’s SUV portfolio, Fronx continued to shine with over 20,000 units sold. Grand Vitara also posted impressive growth of 80.22%, with sales rising to 9,366 units from 5,197 units a year earlier. However, Brezza witnessed a decline of 13.75%, falling from 15,566 units in May 2025 to 13,425 units in May 2026. Jimny sales also dropped 24.34% to 516 units.
Maruti’s entry-level portfolio recorded significant gains. Alto sales nearly doubled to 9,887 units, growing 98.93% YoY. S-Presso posted the highest percentage growth among established models, surging 253.71% to 6,388 units. Celerio also reported a strong 62.17% increase, reaching 3,018 units.
Month-on-Month Performance
Compared to April 2026, Maruti’s overall sales increased by 1.4%, with volumes rising from 1,87,704 units to 1,90,337 units. Grand Vitara (+21.35%), S-Presso (+22.61%), Celerio (+31.45%) and Fronx (+9.86%) were among the strongest gainers on a monthly basis. On the other hand, Victoris (-20.79%), Jimny (-25.54%), Alto (-8.93%) and Brezza (-4.95%) registered declines.
With nearly 1.9 lakh units sold in May 2026, Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the passenger vehicle market. Dzire, Fronx and Ertiga remain key growth drivers, while Victoris has quickly emerged as a significant contributor to the company’s sales volumes.
