Coal production | Coal production has started recovering after a monsoon-related slowdown, with Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy saying output is expected to increase further if rainfall remains subdued in coal-producing regions.
Reddy said 123.7 million tonnes (MT) of coal is currently available, enough to meet around 51 days of consumption at the rate of 2.4 MT a day.
He said power generation companies and thermal power plants are not facing any shortage of coal.
