'Main Vaapas Aaunga' Box-Office: Imtiaz Ali Film Scripts a Rare Comeback Story; Records Over 100 Per Cent Second Weekend Jump

Where there is a will, there is a way—and where there is good word of mouth, there is box-office glory. At least that is what has now been proven with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's partition drama, Main Vaapas Aaunga. The film has scripted a rare, spectacular comeback at the ticket window, registering the kind of box-office trending that is hard to come by in today's volatile theatrical market. The project started slow at the box-office when it opened last Friday, netting ₹1.15 crore and eventually clocking in a low first weekend number of a little over ₹5.50 crore. But then, the word of mouth started to kick in for the film starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah.
