The opening batter slammed 11 fours in her 95-ball knock of 104 and added 143 off 118 deliveries with Sophia Dunkley to put England well ahead of the curve early. Dunkley scored 73 off 61 while two others who came after this pair were quick too - Alice Capsey 41* (40) and Freya Kemp 36 (22), to power the home team's win in just the 39th over at the Grace Road in Leicester.
Ireland enjoyed an encouraging first half to the fixture as their innings was built on a solid second-wicket partnership of 136 off 152 balls between Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis. They each got a score in the 60s and hit 13 fours between them. When Ireland lost three wickets in the space of 7.1 overs from the 30th, they ran the risk of finishing with a sub-250 total. But Leah Paul and Rebecca Stokell stitched a vital 84-run partnership off just 71 deliveries to push Ireland ahead. Ireland were buoyed by the finish they secured - hitting 77 runs off the last 60 balls to give their bowlers a big total to work with.
But that proved insufficient as Bouchier arrived in the mood to bat big. She got going by laying into 23-year-old pacer Jane Maguire in the sixth over, hitting her for four successive boundaries. She hit Louise Little for two fours in an over and then proceeded to hit four of them off Arlene Kelly as England went past 250 in just the 34th over. Murray struck for the third time in the day when she removed Kemp for a 22-ball 36 but in the following over, Capsey finished the chase with a four.
