On August 15th of 2025, Mahindra Auto showcased four new concept vehicles at their Freedom NU event in Mumbai. Production-spec versions of all four vehicles will be based on Mahindra’s next gen NU_IQ platform. The first of these to launch will be Vision S and is speculated to be called Scorpio Sport, bringing the Scorpio nameplate into the high-volume B SUV Segment.

These new spy shots show two of these test mules in full camouflage and they are followed by a Bolero Neo, which could be a support vehicle for these test mules.
Mahindra Vision S Spied
The four concepts showcased by Mahindra were Vision S and Vision X for the Sub 4m SUV space and then Vision T and Vision SXT for C Segment Mid Size SUV space. Even before this event, test mules of a production-spec version of Vision S were spied testing, which confirms the fact that Vision S derivative will be the first to launch of these four.
Latest spy shots from Mussoorie show test mules with less camouflage (relatively). So, the contours of the front bumper, finer design details around what looks like vertically arranged fog lights in a C-shaped housing. If you are wondering which other Mahindra vehicle has C-shaped elements in the front bumper, it is Scorpio N.
We can see ten vertical elements in the upper grille, four of them thicker and six of them thinner which flank the thicker ones. In the middle of these ten elements is a plaque, which will hold a Mahindra badge. Exactly beneath this plaque, is a radar module for ADAS suite, which is placed in the lower grille.
Other notable elements at the front are circular LED projector headlights from Thar Roxx with C-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, these test mules donned temporary make-shift tail lights, suggesting that tail lights are not finalized yet. Spare wheel is positioned on the tail gate, which means it may be side hinged.
What to expect?
The production version of Mahindra Vision S comes with clamshell bonnet, traditional SUV proportions while still adhering to Sub 4m length constraints. It has a dominating road presence and attracts a lot of eyeballs, as seen in the spy shots. Boxy proportions will allow Mahindra to engineer interior space to offer maximum room, which could be best in segment.
Previous spy shots of Vision S interiors have shown that Mahindra is following closely with the concept. Depending on the variant, Mahindra will equip this vehicle with an overload of features. Petrol, Diesel (confirmed by spy shots) and EV versions are expected. Previous spy shots have suggested that this vehicle may come with rear independent suspension, which only a few like Tata Nano and Tata Indica used to offer in sub 4m segment. Launch is likely to happen in 2027.
