Mahindra Racing has concluded the 2025/26 FIA Formula E World Championship with one of its strongest seasons yet. The Indian team secured third place in the Teams’ Championship after a double podium at the season-ending London E-Prix, matching its best-ever championship position while recording its highest points tally in a single season.

Mahindra Racing finished with 252 points, behind Jaguar TCS Racing and Porsche Formula E Team. Jaguar claimed the Teams’ Championship with 288 points, while Porsche finished second with 271 points. Mahindra comfortably held third ahead of Andretti Formula E, which ended the season with 229 points.

Mahindra Racing Finishes 3rd With 252 Points

The 2025/26 result marks another step forward for Mahindra Racing. The team had finished fourth last season with 186 points, meaning it has gained one championship position while adding 66 points to its season tally. Across 17 rounds this season, Mahindra Racing secured two race victories, seven podium finishes and five pole positions. Its 252-point haul is the highest the team has scored in a single Formula E season.

The final championship standings underline how competitive the battle at the front was. Jaguar finished first with 288 points, just 17 ahead of Porsche at 271. Mahindra was another 19 points behind Porsche with 252, while Andretti finished 23 points behind Mahindra.

Further down the order, Citroën Racing finished fifth with 182 points, followed by Nissan Formula E Team with 157 and Envision Racing with 152. Cupra Kiro, DS Penske and Lola Yamaha ABT completed the top 10.

London Double Podium Seals Top Three Finish

Mahindra entered the London double-header with third place in the Teams’ Championship still to be decided. Saturday proved challenging, although Edoardo Mortara recovered from 18th on the grid to finish seventh. Nyck de Vries finished 13th after a late Full Course Yellow affected his strategy.

Sunday produced a much stronger showing. Both Mahindra drivers progressed through qualifying to contest an all-Mahindra final. De Vries beat Mortara to pole, handing the team its first-ever Formula E front-row lockout.

Both cars remained in contention for victory during the race. A late Attack Mode deployment from Taylor Barnard eventually moved him ahead, leaving de Vries second and Mortara third. More importantly for Mahindra, the double podium helped the team collect a total of 42 points from the London weekend and secure third in the championship.

Mahindra Ends GEN3 Era On A High

London also marked the final race of Formula E’s GEN3 era, giving Mahindra another notable achievement. The team secured the first pole position of the GEN3 era and has now taken the last one as well. Mahindra’s first GEN3 pole came at Mexico City in January 2023. De Vries’ London pole therefore bookends an important chapter in the team’s Formula E programme.

The 2025/26 campaign also represents a significant turnaround compared to some of Mahindra’s more difficult seasons earlier in the GEN3 cycle. After returning to fourth in the championship last season, Mahindra has now moved into the top three while becoming a more regular contender for poles, podiums and victories.

Mortara 5th, De Vries 7th

Mahindra’s improvement was also reflected in the Drivers’ Championship. Edoardo Mortara finished fifth overall with 137 points, while Nyck de Vries secured seventh with 115 points. Together, the pair delivered all 252 of Mahindra’s Teams’ Championship points. The season included two victories along with five additional podiums, while five pole positions demonstrated the M12Electro’s qualifying pace.

Team Principal and CEO Frederic Bertrand highlighted the year-on-year improvement after the London finale. “Last season we finished fourth with 186 points; this season we finish third with 252, alongside two wins, five pole positions and seven podiums,” Bertrand said.

Formula E Connection Gets Stronger In India

Mahindra’s strong finish in London came during the same Independence Day weekend when Mahindra held its annual August 15 event in India. Among the products showcased was the new Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition, further strengthening the connection between Mahindra’s electric road-car portfolio and its Formula E programme.

Focus Shifts To Formula E GEN4

Mahindra has competed in Formula E since the championship’s inaugural 2014/15 season and remains the only Indian manufacturer on the grid. Its third-place finish in 2025/26 therefore adds another important result to a Formula E programme that now stretches across more than a decade.

The final Teams’ Championship standings put Mahindra ahead of Andretti, Citroën, Nissan, Envision, Cupra Kiro, DS Penske and Lola Yamaha ABT, with only Jaguar and Porsche finishing higher. With GEN3 now concluded, Mahindra Racing’s attention turns towards Formula E’s GEN4 era. The team enters the next technical cycle after its best-ever 252-point season, having finished inside the championship top three with two wins, seven podiums and five poles.
