BaaS available across all variants

Mahindra has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service programme to cover multiple models and is now available across the BE 6 Sporteq, XEV 9S, and XEV 9e. The programme, which was first introduced with the launch of the updated BE has now been extended across all variants of all three models.

Under the BaaS structure, buyers finance the vehicle and the battery separately, thus reducing the upfront cost of ownership. The battery is financed at an effective usage cost of Rs. 3.75 per km across all three models, with the battery EMI starting at Rs. 6,975 based on 60km of daily usage, specific down payment, and applicable tenure.

The BE 6 Sporteq is now available from Rs. 11.45 lakh, the XEV 9S starts at Rs. 12.65 lakh, and the XEV 9e at Rs. 13.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom and exclude the battery cost, which is financed separately, as well as charger cost, road tax, insurance, TCS, and other applicable statutory levies. The programme is available for personal use only, and battery EMI will vary based on battery size, down payment, and tenure chosen.

With this expansion, Mahindra becomes one of the few manufacturers to offer BaaS across its electric SUV range. The XEV 9S and XEV 9e, both of which were previously positioned at price points that required a significant upfront commitment, can now be considered by a broader set of buyers without the full capital outlay upfront.
