A journalist asked Suresh Triveni if he’d like to bring the iconic pair of Anil and Madhuri together.

Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Ravi Kishan, Dharna Durga, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Arunoday Singh, Shardul Bhardwaj, director Suresh Triveni, producer Vikram Malhotra and Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh of Netflix attended the trailer launch of their film Maa Behen in Mumbai. The event began on an entertaining note as Madhuri, Triptii and Dharna played a game mixing snakes-and-ladders with truth or dare. The Netflix team had delivered sarees to several women journalists days before the event. Some of them attended the launch wearing those sarees. They were called on stage and got a chance to dance with Madhuri to the iconic song ‘Dhak Dhak’.

Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh said, “More than 1 ½ years ago, Suresh Triveni narrated the film to us. My team and I were so lucky that we witnessed writer Pooja Tolani and Suresh narrating the film to us. They stood up, played songs and performed. We thought that Adarsh Colony had relocated to our office! What appealed to us is the ease with which they were breaking certain patriarchal concepts. When we saw the final cut, we realized that there isn’t another film or show on the streaming or theatrical landscape which is like Maa Behen. It’s a genre in itself. You can’t slot it as dark comedy or social film.”
She also stated, “I am grateful that Abundantia has finally embarked on a journey with us. I have been a fan of Suresh. I have chased him many times before. He has come to us with some ideas. I have been left on read and I have left many missed calls! We’ll continue to do so because at Netflix, we are just fans of the incredible work that people do.”
Meanwhile, Madhuri was as graceful as ever and also raised laughs. She was asked if there’s anyone to whom she would like to give the Maa Behen treatment. Madhuri replied, “There’s no one in the world for whom I’ll think of something like that. But at times, you do meet such people. For a second, you do think but then you feel ‘Nahin nahin, jaane do’ (laughs).”
She also shared a hilarious anecdote, “During our first meeting, I asked Suresh about the film’s title. He replied, ‘Maa Behen’. I thought he was joking. So, I looked at him and laughed. But he didn’t say anything and kept looking at me. Then I asked him, ‘Yeh title hai film ka?’. He nodded. Then I heard the story after which I realized that the title is just apt (smiles).”
Suresh Triveni’s last venture was Subedaar (2026), starring Anil Kapoor. A journalist asked Suresh Triveni if he’d like to bring the iconic pair of Anil and Madhuri together. The director confessed, “It’s been a dream for me. In the same year, I worked with Anil sir as well as Madhuri ma’am. Of course, I’d love to bring them together. Do you guys want to see them together?”
Everyone said ‘Yes’ in unison. Suresh added, “The verdict is here. So, I am really interested. In fact, Pooja and I were discussing that we should try making a comedy with them because they are a brilliant team together.”
Madhuri added, “Suresh ji, aapke liye ek naya kaam aa gaya hai. You have to bring us together!”
Maa Behen releases on Netflix on June 4.
