Logistics Remain A Key Factor As Continent Seeks $518 Million To Combat Ebola

African health authorities and international partners recently launched a $518 million continental response plan to contain the growing Ebola outbreak in Central and East Africa, as governments, donors and private-sector groups step up efforts to prevent wider regional transmission. The joint initiative by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) comes as the number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) rose to 676, including 136 deaths, according to government data released on Thursday.
