Akanksha Chamola admits motherhood is the reason behind divorcing Gaurav Khanna
On the first episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Akanksha Chamola put all speculations to rest and confirmed that she and Gaurav Khanna have been living separately for a year. Now, the actress bared her heart, speaking about the reason behind their split, i.e., differences over starting a family.
In the latest episode, she broke down, stating that the secret that she revealed is devastating. Later, while talking to her friends and co-contestants Shreya Kalra and Sufi Motiwala, Akanksha revealed that her choice to remain child-free stands at the center of their mutual decision to part ways.
Akanksha confessed that she never had a maternal instinct. However, she was open to discovering it. “However, gradually I realized that I am not meant for it. And he was okay with it. But, in time, that shifted. Now he wants to have kids. I can see that I can't give him that,” Chamola stated.

When asked if she would ever reconsider embracing motherhood, Akanksha remained firm. “I don't have those instincts. I said that a long time back when I realized I am not made for this," she stated, adding that she even gave Gaurav the option to move on much earlier. "We had a discussion, and I told him you can leave me if you want. It's fair enough. Most people get married to have kids and take forward the family lineage. He is not wrong on his part,” she expressed.
When Anupamaa star Gaurav participated in Bigg Boss 19, the audience could see the difference in their ideologies. Talking about it, Akanksha reflected, “Then Bigg Boss happened, and I realized that he wants it [kids] very badly. I am not able to do it. I don't want to put him in that situation. I am child-free for a reason. I want to be free.”
