Mr. Graham, a prominent Republican senator from South Carolina and a key ally of U.S. President Trump, died on Saturday evening, the office said in a post on X.

‘A true American Patriot’: Trump remembers Lindsey
U.S. President Donald Trump offered his condolences following the news of Mr. Lindsey’s death and called him “one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known”.
“Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, is dead! He was always working, and was a true American Patriot. Lindsey will be greatly missed!!!,” Mr. Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Netanyahu, other Israeli officials offer condolences
Israel’s Prime Minister and other top officials offered their condolences on Sunday (July 12, 2026) for the death of U.S. Senator Graham, saying they had lost a dear friend.
“Lindsey understood that the security of Israel and America are inseparable,” Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. “Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend.”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Defense Minister Israel Katz, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett were among a few others who called Mr. Graham, in separate X posts, a true friend of Israel and one of its strongest supporters.
