Lenovo partnered with the Pantone Color Institute to build a palette designed to make your laptop feel like a personality statement, not office equipment.

Working with the Pantone Color Institute — the same organization that declared “Very Peri” the Color of the Year for 2022 — Lenovo developed seven finishes:

The chassis comes in either all-aluminum or a two-tone metal-and-polymer build. The real headline, though, is swappable keycaps — color-matched or contrasting sets, orderable at purchase. Tom’s Hardware notes that level of keyboard customization is genuinely uncommon in the laptop space. It’s not a different paint job. It’s a different philosophy.

Both chip options qualify as Copilot+ PCs — Microsoft’s standard requiring a dedicated on-device AI processor for tasks like live captions and AI-assisted search. Snapdragon X leans toward battery efficiency; Ryzen AI 400 delivers more RAM headroom and upgradeability. Performance benchmarks will have to wait for retail units.

The Catch Nobody’s Talking About

The $699.99 base price gets you in the door, but the best version of this laptop costs considerably more — and the most expressive colors don’t get OLED.

That starting price is real, per Mashable and Gizmodo coverage, but OLED panels, 32GB RAM, and the 65Wh battery push costs significantly higher — think buying a base-spec console and immediately needing every add-on sold separately. Worse: OLED is locked exclusively to Moody Blue and Lowkey Grey. Want Radiant Coral or Spicy Gold? You’re on LCD, capped at 120Hz. That’s the trade-off Lenovo buried in the spec sheet, and it’s the one most worth understanding before you configure.

Lenovo built something that looks different because it genuinely is different. Whether that matters depends entirely on whether you’ve ever rage-counted the MacBook Neo’s two USB-C ports.
